Homemade Apple Sauce

What you will need: 5.5 pounds or 2.5 kg of apples, are used Honeycrisp apples and golden delicious apples, honey, cinnamon sticks, water, a blender

Instructions:

  • Peel, core, and chop the apples into small cubes
  • Transfer the chopped apples to a stock pot and add 1 cup of water
  • Bring apples and water to a boil, then add a cinnamon stick
  • Add 2 tablespoons of honey
  • Give it a good mix
  • Cover the pot, lower heat and let it simmer for about 25 minutes or until apples are fully cooked and softened
  • Making sure to mix occasionally so the apples don’t stick to the bottom of the pot and burn
  • After 25 minutes, take the pot off the heat, remove the lid and let the apple sauce cool off until warm
  • Transfer to the blender and purée until smooth
  • I like to put a cinnamon stick in each cup that I pour the sauce into, this is optional but presents nicely
  • Enjoy!
