Kidney Beans Stew

You will need:

2 medium onions, tomato purée, beans, meat (optional: I used lamb shoulder meat) 2 bouillon cubes, 4 garlic cloves


  • Add 1 1/2 cup beans to a bowl and soak over night
  • Next day, get rid of the soaking water and rinse the beans very well
  • Heat olive oil and sauté chopped onion until soft and fragrant
  • Add meat
  • Season with black pepper
  • Add minced garlic
  • Flip the meat onto the other side
  • Add bouillon cubes
  • Add 2 cups tomato purée
  • Cook the meat in the tomato purée for a few minutes until sauce is bubbly and thickened
  • Add beans
  • Add water
  • Make sure the beans are completely covered with water
  • Adjust salt to taste and give it a stir
  • Cover and bring to a hard broil, then lower heat and let it simmer for 1 hour or until beans are fork tender
  • Enjoy!
