You will need:
2 medium onions, tomato purée, beans, meat (optional: I used lamb shoulder meat) 2 bouillon cubes, 4 garlic cloves
Instructions:
- Add 1 1/2 cup beans to a bowl and soak over night
- Next day, get rid of the soaking water and rinse the beans very well
- Heat olive oil and sauté chopped onion until soft and fragrant
- Add meat
- Season with black pepper
- Add minced garlic
- Flip the meat onto the other side
- Add bouillon cubes
- Add 2 cups tomato purée
- Cook the meat in the tomato purée for a few minutes until sauce is bubbly and thickened
- Add beans
- Add water
- Make sure the beans are completely covered with water
- Adjust salt to taste and give it a stir
- Cover and bring to a hard broil, then lower heat and let it simmer for 1 hour or until beans are fork tender
