Make Meatballs Parm Subs with me!

πŸ§† First make the meatballs:
Soak bread crumbs in milk for 20 minutes
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Stir diced onions in and cook until translucent (about 15 minutes)
In a large bowl, mix ground meat, sautΓ©ed onion, pesto sauce, bread crumb milk mixture, eggs, parsley, garlic, cheese and all the seasonings, until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for one hour.
Using wet hands or a melon scoop dipped in water, form meat mixture into equal size balls.

πŸ₯« Next step, sear meatballs on all sides in heated olive oil, then add hot marinara sauce, cover, bring the flame down to medium-low, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

πŸ₯– To assemble the sandwiches:
Slice bread open, spray each the inside of each half with olive oil, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasonings on top and bake until lightly toasted.
Spread a layer of pesto and a layer of marinara sauce on the bread. Add the meatballs, top with grated mozzarella cheese, and bake again until the cheese is melted.
