Legend has it that someone is at a party at this very moment, contemplating if they should eat yet another bang bang shrimp! If youβre considering making this homemade appetizer recipe for a party like Superbowl Sunday or just for cocktails with friends, consider doubling the batch!

Letβs prepare our ingredients to make this amazingly delicious Bang Bang Shrimp:
For the shrimp marinade:
π€ 1 pound raw peeled shrimp
π€ 1 1/2 cup buttermilk
π€ 1 1/2 teaspoon @badiaspices onion powder
π€ 1 1/2 teaspoon @badiaspices garlic powder
π€ 1 1/2 teaspoon @badiaspices SazΓ³n
π€ 1/2 teaspoon @badiaspices paprika
π€ 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the coating:
π€ 1 cup cornstarch
π€ 1 teaspoon of each of the seasonings used in the shrimp marinade
For the Spicy Mayo:
π€ 3/4 cup mayonnaise
π€ 1/3 cup sweet chili sauce
π€ 2-3 tablespoons sriracha sauce
π€ 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
π€ 1/2 teaspoon salt
For garnish:
π€ Sesame seeds
π€ Sliced scallions or chives

Letβs get started:
π€ First, prepare the shrimp marinade. In a medium bowl, combine the buttermilk with all the seasonings and soak the shrimp in this mixture for 20 minutes.
π€ In the meantime, make the Bang Bang sauce. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, and salt. Give it a good mix and set it aside.
π€ Now mix the cornstarch with all the seasonings. Use a slotted spoon to take the shrimp out of buttermilk and toss it in the cornstarch mix.
π€ Fry the coated shrimp in oil, on medium heat, until golden brown; then take out of the oil and let it rest for 10 minutes on a cooling rack.
π€ Toss fried shrimp in the Bang Bang sauce and top with some sesame seeds and chopped chives.
