Thanksgiving Turkey

I am feeling good!! 🧡🤎🧡Another amazing Thanksgiving in the books! This is my favorite holiday to host. Family gathered around dinner table, catching up with lots of laughs, and of course great food! What else is there to ask for? My heart is full… and my belly too 🤩🤩🤩

Sharing my tips for the most delicious wet turkey brine so you can use this next Thanksgiving:
🦃 I wash my Turkey thoroughly with water, apple vinegar and lemon juice, and I transfer it to the brining bucket.
🦃 I add 2 apples, 1 orange, 2 onions, all cut up in medium pieces; a handful of garlic cloves, fresh thyme, sage and rosemary. I also add some whole aromatic spices, such as a cinnamon stick, star anise, whole spice, cardamom pods, cloves, whole peppercorns, a whole cup of coarse salt, 1 cup apple juice or apple cider, 1 cup orange juice, 1 cup apple vinegar, 2 tablespoons mustard, 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce, and 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce are all part of my brine recipe too.
🦃 Every ingredient used contributes to the amazing final taste you get to enjoy once the Turkey is cooked and on your plate.
🦃🤩❤️

🦃 Once the Turkey is out of the brine, pat it dry very well inside and out.
🦃 Add some paprika or Sazón seasoning to a generous amount of softened butter and mix them well.
🦃 Smear the Turkey all around on top and underneath the skin with the seasoned butter.
🦃 Put a few carrots, a couple of celery stalks and 1 cut up onion in the bottom of the roasting pan; put a rack in and place the buttered Turkey on top.
🦃 Lastly, melt 2 sticks of butter, drench a cheesecloth in it and wrap the Turkey with it all around, making sure all the skin is covered. This step is key in making the Turkey skin crispy and evenly colored, while keeping the meat soft and juicy!
🦃 Pour some hot water in the roasting pan and roast the Turkey on 400F for one hour, then drop the temperature to 350F until the Turkey is fully cooked; making sure to baste the Turkey with the drippings and rotate it in the oven every 30 minutes.
🦃 As a general rule the Turkey cooking time is 13 minutes per pound.
Happy cooking and Bon Appétit ❤️
