Hello Friends! 🌻🌻🌻
I truly wish I could share the smell of my kitchen right now with you!
An amazing half whole wheat bread loaf recipe is coming your way!
I’m back with the homemade with the bread loaf recipe:
🍞 2 cups all purpose flour
🍞 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
🍞 2 tablespoons old fashioned rolled oats
🍞 2 tablespoons flaxseed
🍞 1 teaspoon salt – I used @badiaspices pink salt
🍞 1 ¾ teaspoons instant dried yeast
🍞 1 cup milk
🍞 3 tablespoons butter
🍞 2 tablespoons honey
🍞 1 beaten egg to glaze
🍞 Extra oats for topping
1️⃣ In a medium bowl combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, oats, flax seeds, salt and yeast.
2️⃣ in another bowl, add the milk, butter and honey; and microwave for a few seconds until the butter has melted and the milk has slightly warmed.
3️⃣ Transfer the dry ingredients to the mixer’s bowl, add the warm milk mixture and mix until the dough comes together.
4️⃣ Knead the dough by hand or using the dough hook stand mixer attachment, for 8 minutes, until it’s smooth and pulls away from the sides of the mixer’s bowl.
5️⃣ Transfer dough to a lightly greased large bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Make sure you massage the surface of the dough with a little oil too. Allow the dough to rise for 1 1/5 hour.
6️⃣ Grease your loaf pan. shape dough into a log and pinch the seams underneath. Place in a prepared pan, seam side down.
7️⃣ Cover the loaf with a clean kitchen towel and allow it to rise again for 70 minutes or until the loaf has risen an inch above the rim.
8️⃣ Gently brush the top of the dough with egg wash. Sprinkle a few more oats on top of the dough to garnish.
9️⃣ Bake on the middle rack, in a 400 degrees preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until loaf is golden brown. 🔟 Transfer pan to wire rack to cool for 10 minutes, then remove bread from pan and place on a wire rack to finish cooling for at least 2 hours.
Do not slice the bread before it is completely cooled.
