You will need: 6 pieces of Quail, 6 chicken breasts, 2 large lemons, black pepper, dried oregano, chili powder, salt, garlic powder, lemon pepper, olive oil, water, plain yogurt, cayenne pepper, mustard, sumac, garlic paste, ginger paste, pomegranate molasses
Instructions:
- For the Shish Tawook (chicken kabobs) marinade you will need:
- 5 tablespoons of yogurt
- 1/4 tsp of onion powder, 1/2 tsp of paprika, 1.5 teaspoon of cumin, 1 tbsp Chili powder, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, 1/4 tsp dried oregano, 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- I used 1 batch of seasonings for 6 boneless chicken breasts
- Add 1 tsp of garlic paste or finely minced garlic
- Add 1 tbsp pepper paste (if not available use tomato paste instead)
- Add 2 tsp of salt
- Juice of 1 large lemon
- Add the lemon juice to the yogurt & seasonings
- Add 4 tbsp of olive oil
- Give it a mix
- Add 1/4 cup of water
- Give it another good mix
- This recipe is for 6 boneless chicken breasts
- Cut each breast into 8 cubes
- Mix the chicken cubes with the marinade, making sure all the pieces are coated all around
- Transfer it to a container
- Cover and refrigerate it overnight or for at least 2 hours
- For the Quails marinade you will need: 1 1/2 tsp mustard, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp sumac, 1 tsp lemon pepper, 1 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp garlic paste, 1/2 tsp ginger paste, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper
- To a bowl, add 1 tbsp tomato paste
- Add tbsp Olive oil
- Add 1 tsp pomegranate molasses
- Give it a mix
- Add the juice of 1 lemon and give it a good mix
- This is for 6 quails
- Cut each quail in two vertically, and massage both sides with the marinade
- Cover and let it sit in the marinade for 2 hours
- Get your shish Tawook skewers and quail halves on a well preheated and oiled grill
- I made some French fries and grilled veggies too! I marinated my veggies with oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper
- Arrange them on a platter or board together with your favorite dipping sauce and pickles
- Enjoy!
