What you will need: Thinly sliced steak, 2 medium onions, 1 shallot, american or provolone cheese (whichever you prefer), olive oil, green peppers, orange peppers, red peppers, sugar, butter, steak bread, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper

Instructions:

  • I used thinly sliced steak
  • Take the stake and slice it into thin strips, season with black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1/2 garlic powder
  • Add about 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • Mix the meat with oil and seasonings until well combined
  • Cover the mix for an hour with plastic and set aside for an hour so all the flavors and marinate
  • Slice some onions, I used 2 medium onions and 1 shallot
  • Slice some peppers, green or colored peppers or a mix of both
  • Heat a large skillet and drizzle a little bit of olive oil into it
  • Sear the meat in batches to avoid overcrowding in the pan
  • Make sure to separate the slices so that they cook evenly in the pan
  • When the meat is done being cooked take the meat out and place it in a bowl
  • To the same skillet add 1 1/2 tbsp butter
  • Add sliced onions to the skillet and mix into the butter
  • Add 1 tsp of sugar (it shortens the amount of time for the onions to caramelize)
  • Cook onions with sugar for 2 minutes
  • Add sliced peppers and mix them with the onions
  • Cook together for 2 more minutes
  • Add the meat back into the skillet and season with salt and pepper to taste
  • Add 2 tbsps of butter
  • Mix steak in and cook with onionS and peppers for 3 minutes for all the flavors to marinate
  • To assemble the sandwich’s:
  • Use steak bread
  • Here’s a tip cheese goes in first! I recommend American cheese or provolone cheese
  • Now add the meat, make sure to get the onions and peppers in too
  • Add a few small pieces of cheese on top of the meat
  • Put sandwich in a preheated toaster oven for just 2 minutes or until bread gets lightly toasted and cheese melts
  • Enjoy!
