- Take the stake and slice it into thin strips, season with black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1/2 garlic powder
- Add about 2 tbsp of olive oil
- Mix the meat with oil and seasonings until well combined
- Cover the mix for an hour with plastic and set aside for an hour so all the flavors and marinate
- Slice some onions, I used 2 medium onions and 1 shallot
- Slice some peppers, green or colored peppers or a mix of both
- Heat a large skillet and drizzle a little bit of olive oil into it
- Sear the meat in batches to avoid overcrowding in the pan
- Make sure to separate the slices so that they cook evenly in the pan
- When the meat is done being cooked take the meat out and place it in a bowl
- To the same skillet add 1 1/2 tbsp butter
- Add sliced onions to the skillet and mix into the butter
- Add 1 tsp of sugar (it shortens the amount of time for the onions to caramelize)
- Cook onions with sugar for 2 minutes
- Add sliced peppers and mix them with the onions
- Cook together for 2 more minutes
- Add the meat back into the skillet and season with salt and pepper to taste
- Add 2 tbsps of butter
- Mix steak in and cook with onionS and peppers for 3 minutes for all the flavors to marinate
- To assemble the sandwich’s:
- Use steak bread
- Here’s a tip cheese goes in first! I recommend American cheese or provolone cheese
- Now add the meat, make sure to get the onions and peppers in too
- Add a few small pieces of cheese on top of the meat
- Put sandwich in a preheated toaster oven for just 2 minutes or until bread gets lightly toasted and cheese melts
- Enjoy!
